Luke and Midhul have both provided Junior and Leaving Certificate grinds since finishing secondary school. In June 2023, they decided to collaborate to create a more effective online learning experience than what was available to them during their own secondary school years.

Academic Edge aims to offer this service at an affordable cost, making private tuition accessible to all. Their goal is to provide a student-led service taught by young third-level students who truly understand what engages today’s youth. Academic Edge combines the benefits of conventional grinds with the advantages of online learning, including the flexibility to study from home, lower costs, and the ability to review content long after the session has taken place.

All Academic Edge tutors have achieved H1 grades in the subjects they teach. Additionally, they pursue college degrees closely related to their subjects and have firsthand experience navigating exams in the modern era of online learning.

To ensure high-quality teaching and learning, classes will be conducted in small groups of no more than five students. Academic Edge utilizes Microsoft Teams to deliver online grinds, share notes, and provide a platform where students can ask questions at any time.
